SHARED MOBILITY DEVICES

On August 4, 2020, the Lafayette City and Parish Councils adopted regulations for Shared Mobility Device use in Lafayette parish.  These shared mobility devices include electric-assisted bicycles, motorized bicycles and electric low-speed scooters.  

For Operators
The Shared Mobility Device Management Committee will be launching a pilot program for the implementation of SMDs in Lafayette parish.  The program will help manage e-scooter and e-bike operators, provide a “soft launch” for Lafayette users and guide Lafayette Consolidated Government with how, if necessary, to further regulate these devices.  The pilot program will limit the number of electric scooters to 250 at its initial launch.  Operators can begin submitting applications using the links below.
