Comeaux Recreation Center

The Comeaux Recreation Center is located in Beaullieu Park between Comeaux High School and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. The Comeaux Recreation Center/Beaullieu Park offers instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium, pickleball courts, a dog park, soccer fields, lighted ball fields, batting cages, jogging trail, walking track, covered picnic areas, outdoor restrooms, and a playground area. The Comeaux Recreation Center is used for youth and adult athletic games and practices including Youth Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Teen Basketball, and Adult League Basketball. The Comeaux Recreation Center/Beaullieu Park is also home of the Cajun Youth Sports Association.

Domingue Recreation Center

The Domingue Recreation Center was Lafayette’s original Recreation Center and is located in City Park, which includes Jay and Lionel Hebert Municipal Golf Course at 121 Shirley Picard Drive; OJ Mouton Swimming Pool; Clark Field - a lighted artificial turf football and soccer stadium, outdoor fitness park, outdoor basketball courts, picnic areas. The Domingue Center is the home of New Vision Leadership Program. The Domingue Center offers instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium, and a playground area. Organizations that participate at the Domingue Recreation are Brown Park Athletics, Lafayette Parks and Recreation Youth Girls Basketball, Teen Basketball, Adult Basketball and Adult Volleyball.

Dupuis Recreation Center 1212 East Pont Des Mouton Road; Lafayette, La 70501 (337) 291-8377The Dupuis Recreation Center is located in Brown Park, activities includes instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium, a Timber Challenge work-out station, 1 mile jogging trail, lighted tennis courts, restrooms, covered picnic areas with grills, water fountains, playground areas, a dog park, baseball/softball fields and football fields. The Dupuis Recreation Center is used for youth and adult athletic games and practices for both youth and adults. Organizations that participate are Brown Park Athletics, Lafayette Parks and Recreation Youth Girls Basketball, Teen Basketball, Adult Basketball and Adult Volleyball, as well as other Athletic Leagues.

Girard Recreation Center

The Girard Recreation Center is located inside of Girard Park the unofficial flagship of the Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department. Activities offered include which instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium. The Girard Recreation Center is used for youth and adult athletic games and practices for both youth and adults including Girls Basketball, Teen Basketball, Cajun Wheeler Wheelchair Basketball, Adult League Basketball and Adult Volleyball, as well as other Athletics. Girard Park is the unofficial capitol of the Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department and home of many happy ducks.  Park amenities include  a 1.25 mile jogging trail, outdoor pool, stocked fishing pond, outdoor work-out station, full size pavilion with restrooms and grill (reservations required), open play area, tennis courts, tennis wall, outdoor volleyball courts, outdoor basketball courts, backstop ball diamond, covered picnic areas, restrooms, handicapped restrooms, water fountains, youth playground area with a special needs playground, 9-hole disc golf course, an outdoor splash pad, ping pong table, fitness equipment, and a fishing pond.

Heymann Recreation Center

The Heymann Recreation Center is located inside of Heymann Park. Activities offered include instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium. Heymann Park sits on 28 beautiful acres that feature rolling hills with a full size pavilion equipped with barbeque pits and restrooms, a .5 mile jogging trail, lighted tennis courts with a hitting wall, a regulation size baseball field, disc golf, outdoor basketball courts, covered picnic areas, and a playground area. The Heymann Recreation Center is used for youth and adult athletic games and practices for both youth and adults including Youth Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, and Teen Basketball.

Martin Luther King Recreation Center

The Martin Luther King Recreation Center is located in Dorsey-Donlon Park, a 15 acre park with an outdoor pool, tennis courts, lighted basketball courts, ball parks, jogging trail, covered picnic areas with grills, restrooms, and a children’s playground area with playground equipment. Activities offered include instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium. Also the Lafayette Parish Library System features the Butler Memorial Library Branch located at the Martin Luther King Center. The Library branch offers books, DVD’s, public computers and printers, as well as free WiFi. The Martin Luther King Center is also one of three early voting election sites in Lafayette Parish. The Martin Luther King Recreation Center is used for youth and adult athletic games and practices for both youth and adults including Youth Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Teen Basketball, and Adult League Basketball.

The Robicheaux Recreation Center is located in Neyland Park off of Eraste Landry Rd. The Robicheaux Recreation Center offers instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium The Robicheaux Recreation Center is used for youth and adult athletic games and practices for both youth and adults including Youth Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Teen Basketball and Adult League Basketball. The park provides the public outdoor tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, lighted ball fields, batting cages, covered picnic areas with grills, restrooms, handicapped restrooms, playground area, and an olympic-size heated indoor pool complex named the Earl J. Chris swimming pool.

The Thomas Recreation Center is located in Thomas Park. The Thomas Recreation Center offers instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium. The Thomas Recreation Center is used for youth and adult athletic games and practices including Youth Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Teen Basketball, and Adult League Basketball. The park has a well maintained outdoor basketball court, .6 mile jogging path, a large parking lot, tennis clubhouse, lighted tennis courts, tennis wall, soccer fields, and a playground area. There are large hills that are awesome to fly kites on or roll down!

The Bowles Activity Center Center is located in Pa Davis Park. The Bowles Activity Center offers several activity rooms available for rent for meetings, workshops and a variety of social gatherings including baby showers, family reunions and graduation parties. The park has a 1 mile jogging trail, basketball courts, lighted soccer field, and full size rental pavilion, and an 18 hole disc golf course.

 

J. Carlton James Activity Center

The J. Carlton James Center is located in Deballion Park. The J. Carlton James Center offers activity rooms available for rent for meetings, workshops and a variety of social gatherings including baby showers, family reunions and graduation parties. The J Carlton James Center is home of the New Hope after school program. The park has a covered outdoor basketball court, tennis courts, a full size rental pavilion, and a children’s playground with baby equipment.
