Jamie Angelle, Chief Communications Officer
Born and raised in Saint Martin Parish, Chief Communications Officer Jamie Angelle graduated from Breaux Bridge High School in 1997 and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he studied mass communication. Angelle later graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Saint Leo University in Tampa, Florida. He also has an Associate’s Degree in Spanish from the Defense Language Institute.
During his time at UL he also worked at KATC-TV 3 as the assignment editor and news producer. He later became a reporter at a Lake Charles television station and did freelance print reporting. During his early career, Angelle covered a variety of national level events including the crash of the space shuttle Colombia and Hurricane Lili.
In 2004, Angelle decided to leave the news business and joined the United States Army as an intelligence analyst. During his military career, he served in various locations including Colombia, Mexico City, and a tour in Baghdad, Iraq. After 13 years of serving his country he was medically retired in early 2017 and decided to return home to southwest Louisiana.
Angelle became the co-anchor of NEWS15 Today at the local NBC/FOX affiliate in Lafayette in March 2017. In August 2019 he joined the news team at KATC as a multi-media journalist where he worked until being appointed by Mayor-President Josh Guillory to become the LCG Chief Communications Officer in March 2020.
