LafayetteNOW is Lafayette Parish’s new emergency alert notification system that will deliver real-time updates straight to your phone. LafayetteNOW will send updates on: weather emergencies, road closures, public safety alerts, and other critical information.
LafayetteNOW allows officials within Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) to quickly share important information with the public during emergencies, including severe weather, road closures, evacuations, shelter updates, and public safety alerts.
Depending on your subscription preferences, you may receive alerts about:
Visit lafayettela.gov/alerts and complete the short subscription form or simply text “Join LFTalert” to 31002. You can choose how you'd like to receive alerts—via text message, email, phone call, or all of the above.
No — LafayetteNOW is free for the public. Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.
No. Anyone who lives, works, or regularly visits Lafayette Parish is encouraged to sign up to stay informed.
Your information will only be used to send emergency alerts and important public safety messages, unless you’ve opted in for additional communications channels. It will not be shared with third parties or used for non-subscribed communication.
Yes. When signing up, you can select your preferred topics or geographic areas (if available) so you only receive relevant messages.
