Leonard Wayne Prejean

LEONARD WAYNE PREJEAN, VICE CHAIRMAN
LEONARD WAYNE PREJEAN was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from Lafayette Senior High in 1960 and went on to attend both USL and LSU to obtain a degree in Fire Science. Wayne served in the United States Navy Reserve and received an honorable discharge after eight years of service. He began his career with the Lafayette Fire Department in 1962 as a firefighter and worked his way through the ranks to become Fire Chief until his departure in 1982. He then served as President of Land & Marine Fire Equipment, Inc. and as an advisor to the U.S. Safety Corp.

Wayne married Lynn Broussard in November of 2014 after his wife of 48 years, Judy Langlinais, passed away in 2010. His daughter, Shawnee, is a teacher at St. Ignatius, and son, Dwayne, is a Captain in the Lafayette Police Department.

Scoutmaster for 52 years, member of the Beaver’s Club for 51 years, past chairman of the American Red Cross are just a few of the many organizations Wayne has been a part of, and he is the recipient of a host of honors and awards for his service to the Lafayette community. He is also very involved with Northwood United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men’s Ministry.

Wayne began serving on the Lafayette Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board in August of 2016.

 

 

Dwight Prudhomme

DWIGHT PRUDHOMME grew up in Lafayette and is a graduate of Lafayette High School and University of Louisiana – Lafayette (USL).  He was a four year letterman on the Ragin Cajun Football team as Quarterback.

Dwight has spent the last 30 years in the alcohol beverage industry with Republic National Distributing Company (formerly Magnolia Liquor Company) and is currently Branch General Manager for the Lafayette and Shreveport markets and is responsible for all day-to-day business.

Community Service:

  • Serves on the State Board of Directors of the Louisiana Restaurant Association since 1999.
  • Served on the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2008-2010.
  • Member of Leadership Lafayette Class XX in 2007.
  • Serves on Board of Directors for the Petroleum Club of Lafayette.
  • Served on the Lafayette Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board in 2011-2012.

Christina Harper Olivier

CHRISTINA HARPER OLIVIER was in the 6th grade when her family moved to Lafayette.  She left for college to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University and then worked in Atlanta, Baton Rouge and Houston.  For almost 20 years Christina has been “back home” and her community involvement includes the Junior League of Lafayette, the Kiwanis Club of Acadiana, Leadership Lafayette Class XX, and Leadership Louisiana 2012.

Christina is the managing partner and cofounder of EXCELERANT, a leadership development and human resource consulting company.  When she isn’t volunteering or working, Christina also spends time with her daughters, Madeline & Hannah, and her husband Terence at their family camp in Butte La Rose.

She has been a member of the Fire and Police Civil Service Board since January of 2017.

 

 

M. CANDICE HATTAN, BOARD ATTORNEY, received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Rutgers University and her Juris Doctorate in law from LSU, Paul M. Hebert Law Center. She is the owner of M. Candice Hattan, A Professional Law Corporation.

Candice served as Chairman of the Fire and Police Civil Service Board for nine (9) consecutive years from 1985 through 1994, and began serving as legal counsel for the Board in 1996.
