LCG Hosts Meeting on Blight and Adjudication Changes

LCG TO HOST PUBLIC MEETING ON ADJUDICATION PROCESS AND PROPOSED ORDINANCE CHANGES

Proposed changes are part of the Boulet Administration’s broader efforts to address blight, resolve problem properties and support neighborhood revitalization

Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) will host a public meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Ted A. Ardoin City-Parish Council Auditorium (705 W. University Ave., Lafayette) to discuss proposed ordinance changes and improvements to LCG’s adjudication process.

LCG staff and its consultant, E&P Consulting Services, LLC, will provide an overview of the current process, challenges contributing to delays and a significant backlog of adjudicated properties, and proposed changes intended to create a clearer and more effective path toward resolving problem properties and returning them to productive use.

The effort is part of Mayor-President Boulet’s broader initiative to address blight throughout Lafayette Parish by strengthening enforcement, improving the processes available to resolve neglected properties and removing barriers that can leave properties in limbo for years. The administration’s goal is to achieve timely resolutions for code violations, reduce procedural delays, make participation easier for property owners and provide stronger tools to improve neighborhoods and return properties to commerce.

Members of the public, including property owners, neighborhood residents, people with properties currently in adjudication, developers, and community organizations, are encouraged to attend. The meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about the proposed changes, ask questions and provide feedback as LCG works to improve the adjudication process and advance broader goals for neighborhood revitalization, blight reduction and economic development.
