About PARC

The mission of Parks, Arts, Recreation, & Culture is to provide the citizens of Lafayette Parish the opportunity to participate in a wholesome environment in which they can experience a leisure time that is diversionary in character, and to assist in promoting entertainment, pleasure, relaxation and other physical and mental development.

The Parks, Arts, Recreation, & Culture Department operates under the structure of five (5) divisions: Parks, Athletics, Centers & Programs, Arts & Culture, and Golf Courses. These divisions are entrusted with the maintenance and oversight of approximately 1300 acres of parkland. Lafayette PARC facilities include 30 parks, 8 recreation centers, 2 activity centers, 2 senior citizen centers, 4 swimming pools, 3 golf courses, 2 tennis centers, 8 pickleball courts and numerous additional activity and program fields.
