Budget
In June, 1996, the City and Parish of Lafayette governments consolidated, creating the Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG). The LCG fiscal year is November 1 - October 31. Each year, beginning in the Spring, LCG begins the annual budget preparation process. In accordance with Charter requirements, the budget is presented to the councils at least 90 days prior to the beginning of each fiscal year, and adopted by no later than the second-to-last regular meeting of the fiscal year.
