Capital Improvements

The Capital Improvements Department is primarily responsible for construction and/or maintenance of parish-wide roads, bridges, and drainage infrastructure as well as maintenance of over 100 LCG owned buildings. Capital Improvements also provides engineering design support services for other departments (except LUS).  The Environmental Quality division is also under the authority of Capital Improvements.

MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide for the engineering, construction and maintenance of buildings, streets, bridges and drainage systems as well as providing for a quality infrastructure and environment in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Capital Improvements Department encompasses 60 employees who are responsible for a wealth of progress in our community. The Department’s several divisions have put these monies to work in projects that benefit the Parish of Lafayette. These divisions are:
