Mayor-President Boulet Names Chris Hebert Director of Lafayette Parish OHSEP
MAYOR-PRESIDENT MONIQUE B. BOULET NAMES CHRIS HEBERT DIRECTOR OF LAFAYETTE PARISH OHSEP
Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet has named Christopher D. Hebert as the new Director of the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP), marking the next chapter in the administration's continued investment in public safety, emergency preparedness, and resilient government.
Hebert brings more than two decades of leadership in military service, business operations, healthcare administration, and emergency response. His professional experience includes senior leadership positions in the healthcare field, including Practice Administrator and Director of Operations for Cardiology Specialists of Acadiana, overseeing large teams, complex budgets, organizational growth initiatives, and multimillion-dollar government programs.
With 26 years of service with the Louisiana National Guard, Hebert completed three overseas deployments, serving as an intelligence analyst with a Top-Secret security clearance and as an Infantry Operations Non-Commissioned Officer. Hebert also supported multiple federal disaster response operations throughout Louisiana. His military service was recognized with two Bronze Stars and the Legion of Merit, reflecting distinguished service and leadership. Hebert holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies, summa cum laude, and is a graduate of the United States Sergeants Major Academy.
As Lafayette Parish OHSEP Director, Hebert brings a unique combination of executive leadership, operational management, military experience, emergency response expertise, and public service.

The OHSEP Director serves as the parish's chief emergency management professional, leading preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery, and resilience efforts while overseeing the Lafayette Parish Emergency Operations Center.
