Public Meeting Planned for Mouton Park Improvements
LCG TO HOST PUBLIC MEETING ON FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS TO MOUTON PARK
Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Community Development & Planning Department, in partnership with Lafayette City Council Chair Kenneth Boudreaux, will host a public meeting to gather community input on potential improvements to Mouton Park.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Domingue Recreation Center, 901 Mudd Avenue. Residents and park users will have an opportunity to share what they value about Mouton Park, discuss their experiences using the park and its facilities, and identify improvements or amenities they would like to see in the future.
“Community input is an important part of planning for the future of our parks,” said Lafayette Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet. “We want to hear directly from residents and those who use Mouton Park so their experiences and priorities can help guide future improvements.”
Mouton Park serves as an important gathering place for recreation, wellness, and community connection. Residents of surrounding neighborhoods, along with others who regularly use the park, are encouraged to attend and share their ideas and priorities.
“It’s important to me that the people I represent have an opportunity to share their ideas and priorities for Mouton Park,” said Lafayette City Council Chair Kenneth Boudreaux. “The people who live in this community and use this park know firsthand what is needed. Their input can help shape improvements that will benefit the community for years to come.”
Feedback gathered during the meeting will help LCG identify community priorities and guide the planning process as potential improvements to Mouton Park are considered.
