Trash Bash Event | () |
Want to help clean up Lafayette Parish? Trash Bash, a community cleanup, is scheduled on Saturday, April 22, and residents of all ages are invited to participate to pick up litter in streets, parks, and Bayou Vermilion. Anyone can volunteer โ individuals, community organizations, nonprofits, businesses, and the like. The effort is a partnership between the Environmental Quality Division of Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG), Keep Lafayette Beautiful, and the Bayou Vermilion District (BVD). Volunteers can choose a location in Lafayette Parish to clean or the Bayou Vermilion. Bayou Vermilion volunteers can bring personal watercraft. Motorboats should launch at Beaver Park and canoes and kayaks at the dock near Vermilionville. Bring water, wear closed-toed shoes and sunscreen. ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป Volunteers can register by calling 337-291-5637 or emailing recycling@lafayettela.gov. There is no cost to participate. ๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐น ๐ง๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐๐ฝ๐ฝ๐น๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ธ๐๐ฝ Trash Bash is from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, April 22. Volunteers can pick up gloves, litter bags, grabbers, and visibility vests at the BVDโs Begnaud House, across from the Beaver Park Pavilion, located at 500 Fisher Road. Supplies can be picked up ahead of time by calling the Recycling Office at 337-291-5637. Anyone needing help identifying a clean-up site, can call or email recycling@lafayettela.gov. Lunch and refreshments will be served following cleanup. |

DEBRIS DROP-OFF DAY | () |
Lafayette Parish residents have an opportunity to dispose of unwanted items when Lafayette Consolidated Government and Republic Services host Debris Drop-off Day. The event is to dispose of items that arenโt typically picked up curbside or that are too large to fit inside a garbage cart. Debris Drop-off Day is on March 18 from 8 a.m.-noon at two locations: Brown Park at 1234 E. Pont Des Mouton Road and Robicheaux Recreation Center at 1919 Eraste Landry Road. Accepted Items
Unaccepted Items
Bike Lafayette, a nonprofit cycling advocacy organization, will refurbish unwanted bikes and donate them to children and adults in need. Debris Drop-off Day is open to residents who live in the city of Lafayette and the unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish. Proof of residency will be verified. Residents will need to assist with unloading items. Waste from businesses will not be accepted.
