Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG)’s Public Works Department announces the closure of Canberra Road, approximately 0.40 miles east of Johnston Street, beginning July 8, 2024. This closure is scheduled for approximately eight months for crews to remove and replace the existing bridge along with the associated roadway, drainage and water lines.

Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) and the Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Culture (PARC) Department will host another public meeting regarding the construction at Graham Brown Memorial Park. The meeting will be held on July 10, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Dupuis Recreation Center.

Mayor-President Boulet has elected to veto City Ordinance No. CO-066-2024, adopted by the Lafayette City Council on June 18, 2024. The ordinance granted a Conditional Use Permit (“CUP”), with conditions, to authorize a Convenience store with gasoline sales on the property located at 1803 W. University Avenue.
