The Jay & Lionel Hebert Municipal Golf Course—Lafayette’s oldest public course—offers a rich history and accessible play for golfers of all ages. Originally built in 1926 and renovated in 2010, “Muni” blends classic charm with modern updates, including improved cart paths, new water stations, and enhanced turf conditions. It remains a hub for local golf, hosting events like the Sheriff’s Junior Golf Tournament, high school matches, and the Lafayette City Championship. The course is also a favorite for fundraisers and association tournaments, offering a welcoming, professionally maintained setting just minutes from downtown. With a full-service Pro Shop, lessons and memberships, and a relaxed atmosphere, the Jay & Lionel Hebert Municipal Golf Course invites both seasoned players and newcomers to enjoy one of Acadiana’s most beloved courses.

Les Vieux Chenes Golf Course has been a hometown favorite in Lafayette since 1977, offering a welcoming and well-kept 18-hole course that caters to players of all skill levels. Following a golf course renovation in 2009, rounds of golf played increased which led to strong golf course revenue, thanks in part to major improvements like new turf on all greens, drainage upgrades on four holes, new cart paths, bulk-heading of the pond on holes 9 & 11, restroom renovations, and refreshed practice range targets. Les Vieux Chenes continues to be one of the busiest municipal courses in the region—hosting high school district championships, the last 10 LHSAA Girls’ High School State Championships, monthly senior men’s tournaments, and numerous charity events throughout the year. With an award-winning Golf Shop, full-service grill, practice range, and lesson packages available, the course offers a complete and family-friendly golf experience backed by excellent customer service and a commitment to quality.

The Wetlands Golf Course, Lafayette’s newest municipal course, has quickly grown into a favorite for both competitive and casual golfers. Now more than twenty years old, the course has matured beautifully, offering wide fairways, subtle rolling terrain, and smooth TifDwarf greens across 18 holes. With five sets of tees ranging from just over 5,000 to 7,300 yards, The Wetlands provides a challenging yet accessible experience for all skill levels. In addition to hosting 25 tournaments annually—including the Lafayette City Championship and multiple high school state events—the course offers private instruction, youth clinics, and adult programming. Recent enhancements include targeted drainage improvements and updates to the maintenance facility, ensuring excellent playing conditions year-round. With a full-service Pro Shop, driving range, and on-site restaurant, The Wetlands delivers a complete golf experience supported by a friendly, professional staff dedicated to making every visit memorable.
