The Martin Luther King Recreation Center is located in Dorsey-Donlon Park, a 15 acre park with an outdoor pool, tennis courts, lighted basketball courts, ball parks, jogging trail, covered picnic areas with grills, restrooms, and a children’s playground area with playground equipment. Activities offered include instructor led activities, a weight room, game room, indoor gymnasium. Also the Lafayette Parish Library System features the Butler Memorial Library Branch located at the Martin Luther King Center. The Library branch offers books, DVD’s, public computers and printers, as well as free WiFi. The Martin Luther King Center is also one of three early voting election sites in Lafayette Parish. The Martin Luther King Recreation Center is used for youth and adult athletic games and practices for both youth and adults including Youth Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Teen Basketball, and Adult League Basketball.
