Garbage and recycling carts will be delivered by separate trucks, so they, potentially, will be delivered on separate days. AWS is delivering in order of residents' collection routes, so they will deliver carts to everyone with a Monday collection day first, then move to delivering carts to residents with a Tuesday collection day, and so on.

Approximately 30% of residents will have a different collection day. All of the residences that have a collection day change will get a postcard in the mail.

Yes, recycling carts and additional garbage carts can be ordered at any time, but they will not be delivered during this initial round of deliveries.

Yes, all carts must be returned to Republic, including additional garbage carts. Residents paid a one-time usage fee for the additional cart but did not purchase them. The carts are still owned by Republic.

AWS has received billing addresses from LCG. Residents who are not LUS customers, can expect to receive a bill directly from AWS.

There will be no charge for using a credit card. Call AWS at 337-205-7710 for your payment date or other specific billing questions.

Waste services will continue to be billed quarterly through AWS. AWS first billing will be only for November and December and are being mailed out now.

That will resolve itself once it's allowed to settle on the cart and is exposed to our temperatures for a few days.  We've had the carts stored for a few months now and due to the position, they were in during storage, it takes a brief period of time for the lids to acclimate back to the proper position.  It should resolve itself within a few days, but if for some reason it does not by the end of next week, please let us know.

AWS will pick up grass, pine needles, leaves, flowers, stalks, stems, and small tree trimmings (less than 2 feet in length and less than 2 inches in diameter) should be placed in a bag, container or compost bag not exceeding 50 pounds.  Large tree trimmings shall be laid neatly in piles at curbside, not tied together.  All branches shall be cut in length not exceeding 6 feet. AWS will have a knuckle boom truck with a claw for large piles.

Citizens can use their own container; the container should be under 35 gallons and less than 50 pounds.  Put the yard waste container on the opposite side of the driveway to differentiate. 

AWS will have a bulky pickup and white goods pickup weekly, but residents are encouraged to call in to schedule to make pickups more efficient. 

The Parish rate will be $96.45/quarter, including the LCG EQ fee.

In the City it will be $35.07/month including the EQ fee. 

Those whose pick-up day is changing should receive a postcard this month as a reminder but anyone can check the website. Carts should always be put out the night before.
