Christina Dayries, Chief of Staff

Christina Dayries serves as the Chief of Staff in the Mayor-President’s Office of Lafayette Consolidated Government since January 2024. 

Christina is an accomplished and energetic executive administrator who brings more than 30 years of distinguished service in state and local government. She is a proven leader with extensive experience in policy development, budget management, grant administration, organizational leadership, and strategic operations.

Previously, Christina served as Deputy Director and Chief of Staff for the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), where she supervised statewide preparedness, prevention, response, recovery and mitigation activities. Throughout her career, she earned a reputation as the "spark plug" behind numerous initiatives through sound policy development and innovative leadership. She is widely recognized for her work in emergency management, strategic budgeting, audit reform, grant management, and communications systems innovation, including helping establish the nation's first statewide digital 700 MHz radio system after Hurricane Katrina.  

A native of Abbeville, Christina studied business management at McNeese State University and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and now resides in Maurice with her husband, John.
