Parish District 4 - John Guilbeau

John Guilbeau returns for a second consecutive term representing Lafayette Parish Council District 4, having served on the Parish Council since 2020, with leadership experience as both Council Vice Chair and Council Chair, then being reelected to his seat in 2023 without opposition. He was born in Carencro, Louisiana and has been a lifelong resident of Lafayette Parish. Councilman Guilbeau is married to Vickie Guilbeau and they share three (3) sons and eight (8) grandchildren. He is enjoying retirement from service as senior official with the Louisiana Department of Education for 34 years. Councilman Guilbeau is a graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana with a bachelor’s of arts degree and University of Tennessee with a master’s of arts degree and boasts membership in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He is also a graduate of Burke Baker School of Real Estate. Councilman Guilbeau is most proud of his naval military service and his time as a volunteer fireman. He was inspired to pursue a life of public service by the untiring examples of community service he witnessed in both his mother and father.
