Access to Laws - Legal Research
Laws are enacted at three levels of government – federal, state and local. These laws are codified and are generally available on the internet.
While it is not possible in these few words to provide an authoritative explanation of how to find law, the following web sites serve as portals to the three bodies of law:
Federal: http://answers.findlaw.com/
State: http://www.legis.state.la.us/
Certain of these sites have search functions which are generally logical. By exploring these sites, one can determine the manner in which the text of a specific law can be found.
